Typing Basics
Keyboarding (typing) is a basic and essential skill in today's world. Students will see their skills improve if they practice consistently. Whether practicing a lesson, or playing a game, using proper fingering is essential to developing good habits and ultimately increasing speed and efficiency.
Typing Goals
Kindergarten = 5 sight words + own name
1st grade = Able to type 1-2 sentences in single sitting
2nd grade = 6 WPM + able to type one paragraph in single sitting
3rd grade = 10 WPM
4th grade = 12 WPM + able to type one page in single sitting
5th grade = 15 WPM + able to type 2 pages in single sitting
6th grade = 20 WPM + able to type 3 pages in single sitting
